Author : Shakina Khan and Dr. Deepanshu Agrawal
Abstract
Entrepreneurial intention is a precursor to entrepreneurial behavior and is influenced by a range of social and psychological factors. Understanding these determinants is crucial for fostering entrepreneurship, especially among students in higher education. This study explores the social and psychological factors that shape entrepreneurial intentions among undergraduate and postgraduate students in Delhi NCR. Using a mixed-methods approach, the study surveyed 700 students and conducted in-depth interviews with key stakeholders in the entrepreneurial ecosystem, including educators and mentors. The findings reveal significant relationships between factors such as self-efficacy, social networks, family background, and cultural influences on students' entrepreneurial intentions. The paper concludes with policy recommendations for enhancing entrepreneurial education and support systems in academic institutions to better support aspiring entrepreneurs.
