Author : Rajendra Bhayyaji Panchbhai and Dr. Sunita Dhakne
Abstract
Digitalization is revolutionizing the logistics sector in India, offering significant opportunities for enhancing supply chain efficiency. This research paper explores the impact of various digital technologies-such as the Internet of Things (IoT), big data analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), and blockchain-on the operational performance of logistics companies. It identifies how these technologies streamline operations, improve visibility, enhance decision-making, and contribute to cost reductions and sustainability. However, the study also highlights key challenges and barriers to digitalization, including infrastructure limitations, resistance to change, a skills gap in the workforce, data security concerns, and high initial investment costs. The paper concludes by discussing future directions for the logistics sector, emphasizing the need for collaboration among stakeholders, continuous workforce development, and supportive government policies to fully realize the benefits of digitalization.
