Author : Dr. Satish Kumar and Dr. Jyotishana Rani Saxena
Abstract
This study examines the impact of cultural variations on attributional styles and coping mechanisms for loneliness, comparing adolescents and adults. Attributional style, the cognitive framework individuals use to explain life events, influences how people experience and cope with loneliness. This paper explores the role of cultural factors such as individualism, collectivism, and social norms in shaping these attributional styles and responses to loneliness. By comparing adolescents and adults in distinct cultural settings, the research aims to deepen understanding of loneliness across the lifespan and inform culturally sensitive mental health interventions.
