The Role of Mata's in Community Development: A Qualitative Analysis of Religious Practices and Social Welfare in Karnataka

Author : Shashikala T and Dr. Kumara

Abstract

Mata's, a prominent religious institution in Karnataka, India, is the subject of this research paper, which investigates its community organisation practices. The paper investigates the role of Mata's in promoting community development, social welfare, and cultural preservation by conducting a qualitative analysis of secondary sources, such as academic literature, case studies, and reports. The study emphasises the substantial influence that Mata's have had on the well-being and empowerment of local populations by establishing local shrines, sacrosanct complexes, and various community support initiatives. Religious organisations in India are increasingly participating in corporate social responsibility (CSR) and community development. This trend is exemplified by their practices, which encompass educational support, healthcare services, vocational training, and disaster relief efforts. The results indicate that Mata's is a critical player in addressing the socio-economic and cultural requirements of the communities they serve, thereby establishing them as essential pillars of support and agents of positive change in the region.
