Abstract
The use of social mobility indicators, such as education and class, may improve the prediction, discussion, and understanding of a group's or an individual's social mobility. It could be horizontal, with people moving up one social stratum, or vertical, with people moving down one level of society to an equivalent symbolic level. The high cost of living makes it impossible for certain low-income people to go to college, and this fact is brought to light. Schools are underfunded and there is a severe lack of qualified teachers as a result of the uneven distribution of resources, which in turn widens the achievement gap. Treatment in TL and underrepresentation in educational institutions. School systems that fail to consider the cultural and linguistic backgrounds of certain students, particularly those from underprivileged or immigrant communities, might make the adjustment more difficult. The capacity to acquire new knowledge is a powerful tool for social mobility within the educational system.
