Author : Sandeep Kumar

Abstract

Amidst increasing environmental challenges worldwide, it becomes essential to understand the environmental perceptions of youth, especially undergraduate students who are potential agents of change. This study evaluates the knowledge, attitudes, and awareness of undergraduate students from diverse academic streams concerning environmental issues. Utilizing a quantitative methodology, structured surveys were administered to 300 students across Arts, Science, and Commerce disciplines. Analytical tools including descriptive statistics, t-tests, and ANOVA were employed. Results showed that students from the Science stream possessed comparatively higher levels of environmental literacy and awareness. This paper underscores the necessity for inclusive environmental education policies that cater to all academic disciplines, thereby fostering a more ecologically informed generation.
