Abstract

The volume of data transmission has grown as a result of proliferation of technology powered software and services. Because every network is susceptible to some degree, there has been a rise in the possibility of cybercrime due to the expanding capability of contemporary networks. Worries about cyberattacks have grown in the wake of the recent COVID crisis, which caused almost all services to go online all at once. Thus, in this age of information and communication technologies, reliable communication is very necessary. Most often, there are assaults like distributed denial of service (DDoS), viruses, and spoofing. forms of network assaults. In addition to addressing the difficulties brought on by intrusions, the methods to identify and protect against such assaults have been under discussion for the last several years. We have summarized and evaluated the current literature on IDS in order to identify research needs. The data led to the proposal of a hybrid approach to network security, which would allow for encrypted communication while still protecting the network from outside threats.
