Effect of social media addiction and selfitis behaviour on depression, anxiety, stress in young adults

Author : Tendulkar Kalyani Avinash and Dr. Santosh B Walke

Abstract

This study looks at how using social media too much and taking too many selfies (selfitis) can affect the mental health of young adults aged 18 to 30. We used three questionnaires to find out how much people use social media, how often they take selfies, and how stressed, anxious, or sad they feel. The study used correlation and regression analysis to see the relationship between these behaviors and mental health. The results showed that more social media use and selfie-taking are linked to more mental health problems. This shows we need better ways to use social media in a healthy way.
